Many times we have a preset idea of what should be 'right' and how the conditions should be. Children with their agile mentality are more open for trying different approaches and exploring new angles to what is so familiar to us adults. It is so natural for kids to refuse the concrete boundaries adults so often jail themselves in.

better go teach wrong stuffs =)It will have a worse effects thus pressuring govt for sure
I know a teacher who now works more than 12 hours a day at school because teachers are no longer paid overtime for marking books and test papers at home.
It saddens me to see her slaving away like this.
Its fun for me..no teachers ^_^..skool is actually starting to sound like heaven..aslu bunaanama ..maakaa bodu faidhaa eh nuvaane dhoa emeehunnah??..showing a bad example for us..and wat abt their own kids??..dont they go to skool?? wel..ministry in musaara bodu kohdhen ya kohdheyne dhoa dhen mihaaru ..so ..SHEESH u teachers

egothah emeehun kanthah kohfiyyaa ill say tht its unfair.. and emeehunakee v amihla edhun bodu baehge gothuga dhekeveyne dho..
dhen lets see wat happens..
how many days did the teachers take to strike?
how many days did the students loose because of the strike?
Did we hear any complaining when the government decided to close school for a day when we won a football trophy?
i didn't hear a peep
hehe..paperclippenny ..u've got a ponit..but...it was once in 17 years dhoa?? now we have to wait another 17 years ..lol...
Think abt the fact that we work very hard for the tests and ..at last emeehun mark nukureema O??....they are more students than teacher..so so..whose goin to suffer more..?? and..they HAVE to mark it someday ehnu..maybe when the government raises their salary..but by that time probably half or more of the holidays will be gone ..dhen wil u teachers start complaining abt that??
Agree wit u paperclippenny. Teachers shud get there rite. but i do not support u with teachers action. Im totally against.
Teachers they believe that they r professionals but they act like uncivilized.
Dont they know tommorrow the children wud follow by their path??
n they r doin that now
Now Teachers regret and they change there way of striking with the presure of parents and teachers it self.
If u have listen the Teachers link last meeting audio u wud notice that they 4got who they are..? they keep on repeating saying that they r not trying to make this a political way at the same time they call for the resignation of president and senior ministers. Its more like a political party meeting. If you doubt that go through the news and all.
Even teachers are telling that they regret it and they have done that because there friends forced to do that...
Anyways All i want to say that is... "teacharun teacharun ge size ga thibeyshey"
kudinnah misaalakah vaashey
@muuthi: basically you saying that maldives won a cup in 17 years, so its no problem shutting down school for one day plus a half. But its damn-god forbidden sin that teachers strike for one day. and thats once in how many years??
and some how you forgot teachers do have kids if not a whole family depending on them, in your second comment.
Do they deserve their parents working as slaves and not earning a life. Dont they want their moms/dads spend time with them. Of course not!! Right?
@xefrox: and don't play teachers-should-be-examples game. Probably most of you do not know how much teachers are paid if they didn't protest in the first place.
and teachers too are humans you see, so they are citizens too and they have as same right as you have to call for president to step down. thats not politics thats a previleged right of every public.
so teacherunge size akee?? They are not humans, or citizens of maldives....S
if they are going to teach but not mark the exam papers, that i say is a wonderful decision (o! i wish i were still a student, eh eh), because that way students learn what they are to learn, and the teachers continue their protest without harming the students! (in a shallow thinking)
@thadu: are you saying there are teachers not marking test papers? If so i would have to agree it's wrong of them. Which school are we talking about here? Because i haven't heard this being done in any school that i know of. Least not yet.
